What if you can’t help me?

Chiropractic is great, but (unfortunately) it doesn’t cure everything! So what happens if it doesn’t work for you?

Other options

It could be that you respond to certain treatments and not others. If you don’t respond well to spinal manipulation, I might try spinal mobilisation and muscle energy techniques. Massage alone not enough to relax the muscles? Try a combination of massage and acupuncture to release the tension. Getting relief from treatment but the pain keeps coming back a few days later? Then we need to reassess whats going on in between sessions that may be hampering progress - is it your pillow? Your driving postition? I want your care to be both effective and thorough.

Scans

I might need to refer you for further testing. This could be for an x-ray, MRI, ultrasound, or less commonly a blood test. I can refer you for some private investigations, or I can send my findings to your GP and they can refer you via the NHS pathways. This will help us comfirm/rule out diagnoses and help us decide on the best way forward.

Referral

I have links with several other health and fitness professionals in the area, as well as other Chiropractors with different specialities. It may be that you’d benefit from a supervised exercise programme, sports massage, acupuncture, or perhaps I need to refer you to your GP. In some cases I recommend a mixture of care - for example Chiropractic + sports massage, or Chiropractic + exercise referral
