Can you see a Chiropractor while pregnant?

Yes!

(and I have to say, going through it myself I don’t know how anyone manages to get through without treatment!)

Why would I need to see a Chiropractor?

As you may already know, the combination of the hormone relaxin (which does as it says on the tin - it relaxes ligaments to make room for baby) as well as the added weight of carrying the baby puts a strain on your body and it’s common to feel some aches and pains as your body adjusts. Back/pelvic/pubic pain is what we see most in pregnant people that come to the clinic, however as I’ve found out it can also lead to trapped nerves galore (carpal tunnel, sciatica, etc)!

How would you treat me?

Massage and joint mobilisation can go a long way in helping you to feel more comfortable. At the clinic we even have a pregnancy pillow which has boob and belly holes so that you can lie on your front! I can also advise you on stretches, exercises and activity modification to help you stay comfortable.
